Opera to Go
Opera education is central to Opera Saratoga’s mission. Each year the company performs for more than 25,000 children throughout upstate New York and western New England.
Opera to Go brings fully staged, fully costumed operatic performances to more than 40 elementary schools each year. Using familiar stories and characters like The Billy Goats Gruff helps students connect with the performers while introducing them to the operatic art form and all its components – the drama of the acting, the artistry of the hand-painted sets and costumes, and the striking musical ability of Opera Saratoga’s professional opera singers!
Study guides help teachers prepare students for performances and create direct connections between the Opera to Go experience and state and federal education standards.
Question and answer sessions between artists and students allow children the opportunity to learn more about the performers following the opera performance.
For additional information or to schedule a performance, please contact Deborah Rocco, Director of Education at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 518-584-6018.
