OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Ensemble in Dido and Aeneas and La Cenerentola
Matthew Hill, tenor, received his bachelor of music in vocal performance from the University of Maryland College Park where he frequently performed as a soloist with the School of Music's Bach Cantata series in addition to singing with the Chamber Singers, both at prestigious local venues such as the Kennedy Center, as well as abroad. Recent roles include Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with Siena Music Festival, Damon in Acis and Galatea with New Dominion Chorale, and in musical theatre production as Mark Cohen in Rent, and Matt in The Fantasticks at the University of Maryland. Matthew sings weekly at the church of the presidents in Washington D.C.: St. John's Episcopal Church, Lafayette Square, and also performs as a soloist and chorister with the Washington Master Chorale, the Washington Bach Consort, and the Santa Fe Desert Chorale. Matthew is currently a graduate student of the Maryland Opera Studio under the tutelage of Gran Wilson.
