Opera Presented Salute a Colombo!
Vino, Pasta & Bel Canto!
A fabulous time was had by all when Columbus Day was celebrated in a unique way. On Friday, October 8th the Opera, The Friends of Opera Saratoga, Albany’s American Italian Heritage Museum and American Italian Heritage Association presented Salute a Colombo at Franklin Terrace Ballroom in Troy.
This collaborative fundraiser celebrated Columbus Day and Italian Heritage Month and featured a spectacular evening of wine, food & song. A fantastic dinner was prepared by chef Michael Cocca and then guests were treated to an exclusive operatic performance featuring Company artists singing famous Italian arias, and recreating a scene from La Boheme. The tastes and sounds of Italy were certainly experienced that evening and the Opera looks forward to collaborating with the American Italian Heritage Museum and American Italian Heritage Association in the future.
Funds raised throughout the evening support the programs of both Opera Saratoga & The American Italian Heritage Museum. Special thanks to the Salute a Colombo committee for planning such an amazing event.
