Imagine the warmth and joy of a family dinner at your Italian Grandma’s and you will have an idea of what Prime and Friends of Opera Saratoga have planned for you at this year’s Pasta & Puccini dinner. After mingling amongst your opera friends and an artistic Italian display of hors d’oeuvres, your insalata di pomodori cetrioli will await you in the Ballroom. Enjoy a sip of wine as your server presents your table family style platters of parmigiana chicken cutlets, herb baked cod with roasted tomato ragu, petite pecorino meatballs with marinara sauced pasta as well as a platter of Italian style roasted potatoes with onions and peppers and broccoli rabe con aglio e limone. Save room for a rich and creamy Carmello Budino dessert with your coffee and tea while our visiting artists prepare to entertain you.

The evening’s entertainment will feature arias and scenes from your favorite Italian operas, as well as a preview of music from Opera Saratoga’s upcoming Summer Festival. Two of the country’s most exciting singers, both members of the 2019 Young Artist Program at Opera Saratoga, will perform throughout the evening under the musical direction of Laurie Rogers, mezzo soprano Annie Chester, and tenor WooYoung Yoon. Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson will host the program which will include a few musical surprises you will not want to miss!
