Throughout the summer and into the early fall, OPERA SARATOGA: CONNECT! DAILY featured performances by Festival Artists, premiering every morning at 9:00am on Opera Saratoga’s Facebook page. After they premiered on Facebook, highlights from the series were archived on this page for your viewing pleasure. Two different themed programs, drawn from some of the programming that had to be cancelled as part of the originally planned 2020 Summer Festival, were featured:
OPERA SARATOGA: CONNECT! DAILY G&S – arias and ensembles from the operettas of Gilbert and Sullivan, including excerpts from The Pirates of Penzance, which had been scheduled to open the 2020 Festival.
OPERA SARATOGA: CONNECT! DAILY BEETHOVEN – art song – including many of Beethoven’s beloved settings of folk melodies from around the world – and scenes from Beethoven’s only opera, Fidelio, will be featured as part of the world’s celebration dof the 250th birthday of the great composer.
Opera Saratoga: Connect! is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
