OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Sailor in Dido and Aeneas, Ensemble in La Cenerentola; Cover Castleman in The Long Walk
Dominick Corbacio, tenor, is an emerging artist currently based in New York City. Most recently he made his New York debut as Ernesto in a new production of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale with Venture Opera. He then reprised the role in his Canadian debut at the Kay Meek Theatre in Vancouver, BC. Studying under the tutelage of Neil Rosenshein at the Manhattan School of Music, he will sing the role of Prince Sou Chong in Franz Lehar’s rarely performed operetta Das Land des Lächelns in April of 2015. Other recent performance credits there include Tony in scenes from Bernstein’s West Side Story and Hoffmann in scenes from Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann. During his time at the Eastman School of Music he was seen as Robert in Hindemith’s Hin und Zurück, Herr Vogelsang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor, and Don Ottavio in scenes from Mozart’s Don Giovanni. In 2010, he performed the world premiere of Endings and Beginnings by Diane Jones at the Cazenovia Counterpoint Festival in Cazenovia, NY. Spring 2015 engagments include a a recital of German lieder and scenes from Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at the First Unitarian Universalist Society in Brooklyn, NY as well as at the New Dorp Moravian church in Staten Island, NY.
