DYLAN MORRONGIELLO - STUDIO ARTIST

OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT SEASON: Ensemble in Dido and Aeneas and La Cenerentola; Sailor cover in Dido and Aeneas.

Dylan Morrongiello, tenor, is an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, studying with Professor Darlene Wiley. He hails from Melbourne, Florida, where he studied with renowned Metropolitan Opera singer Mark Baker. He has appeared with the Butler Opera Center, singing Ein Perueckenmacher in Ariadne auf Naxos, Tobias in Sweeney Todd, and Gabriel in Past the Checkpoints. He has also performed at Carnegie Hall in the New York premiere of Eric Whitacre’s Paradise Lost: Shadows and Angels. Last summer, Dylan received a Schubert Fellowship to study and perform at SongFest at The Colburn School in Los Angeles. Dylan has also appeared with the Austin Opera, performing in their productions of Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera and Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette in their 2014-15 season. Dylan is a member of the University of Texas Chamber Singers, where he has been featured as a tenor soloist in their Bach Cantata Project series. A champion of new music, Dylan will be creating the role of The Voice He in Franklin Piland’s Rose-Made Man, which will premiere as part of the University of Texas Cohen New Works Festival this April.
