OMAR NAJMI - APPRENTICE ARTIST
OPERA SARATOGA DEBUT, STUDIO ARTIST (2011). 2015: Ensemble in Dido and Aeneas and La Cenerentola; Ricky cover in The Long Walk
Tenor Omar Najmi is thrilled to return to Opera Saratoga after having been a Studio Artist in 2011. Omar is currently an Emerging Artist with the Boston Lyric Opera where he has appeared in Katya Kabanova (Vanya Kudrjas), The Love Potion (Kaherdin), La Traviata (Giuseppe), The Magic Flute (1st Armored Man), Lizzie Borden (Reverend Harrington), Rigoletto (Borsa) and I Puritani (Bruno). Omar received his Bachelor's Degree from Ithaca College and his Master's Degree from Boston University, where he performed in many of the BU Opera Institute productions including Susannah (Little Bat), and The Postman Always Rings Twice (Katz). Omar spent two seasons as a Young Artist with Opera North, where he covered Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, and he has since returned to Opera North as King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors. Omar has also performed twice with Opera Fayetteville – first as Laurie in Little Women, and most recently as Bill in Jonathan Dove's Flight.
